Software developed by Understanding Rallies.

Understanding Rallies focuses on building software tools that capture the details that matter in squash: rally flow, shot location, winners, errors, planned training sessions, and repeatable coaching feedback.

01

Structured rally logging

Record shot-by-shot rally information from match or practice footage using a clear court-based tagging workflow.

02

Shot and outcome profiles

Transform raw rally events into visual summaries that help identify strengths, weaknesses, and patterns of play.

03

Coach-friendly outputs

Produce analysis and coaching plans that can support feedback sessions, player development, and more intentional practice design.

UR Coaching Planner — plan, review, and grow your drill library.

UR Coaching Planner is built for squash coaches who want one place to organise session plans, store drill notes, review sessions, manage squads, and keep their coaching philosophy visible throughout the season.

Designed around the coaching workflow

Build a session from warm-up to match play, attach drills to each block, review what happened afterwards, and keep player or squad notes connected to your planning process.

  • Plan: create structured sessions using a drill library and session builder.
  • Calendar: view planned sessions by date and reopen them when needed.
  • Review: write post-session reflections, player notes, and improvement points.
  • Squads: organise groups, profiles, levels, and session history.
  • Philosophy: store your coaching values, approach, and player-development goals.

Example session structure

The app helps keep each session easy to follow, easy to adapt, and easy to export for future reference or sharing.

Overview

Understanding Rallies apps do not collect, transmit, or store personal information. Match data, coaching sessions, reviews, squad notes, and drill information are saved locally on your device and never leave your device.

Data collected

Understanding Rallies apps do not collect any personal data. The apps create and store the following files locally on your device only:

  • Match event logs (JSON and CSV files) saved to your Documents folder
  • Analysis output images generated from your session data
  • A keymap preferences file storing your custom keyboard shortcuts
  • A first-launch flag file used to show the tutorial on first use
  • Coaching Planner session plans, reviews, squad profiles, coaching philosophy notes, goals, and custom drill entries

None of these files are uploaded to Understanding Rallies or any third party.

Video files

Any video files you choose to analyse remain entirely on your device. UR Logger processes video locally using FFmpeg and OpenCV. No video footage is transmitted or stored by Understanding Rallies.

Analytics and tracking

UR Logger does not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or third-party tracking tools. No usage data is collected or transmitted.

Third-party software

UR Logger bundles the following open source libraries. These operate entirely locally and do not transmit data:

  • FFmpeg — video processing (LGPL 2.1)

  • OpenCV — video analysis (Apache 2.0)
  • NumPy and pandas — data processing (BSD)

Full license notices are included within the installed application.
